Shopify fee calculator for Malaysia

Shopify Payments is not available to a Malaysian store, so every card or FPX payment goes through a third-party gateway. Shopify then adds its own fee: 2% on Basic, 1% on Grow, 0.6% on Advanced. The gateway’s own percent is yours to type. The 2% in that box is only an example.

What does Shopify cost in Malaysia?

On the Malaysia pricing page, yearly billing is US$19 for Basic, US$49 for Grow and US$299 for Advanced. Monthly billing is US$25, US$65 and US$399. Those are converted with the exchange table only when you spread the plan across a number of orders.

Why are there two percent fees?

One is Shopify’s fee for using a third-party payment provider. The other is the gateway itself. A Malaysian store pays both, because Shopify Payments is not on the list of countries. Replace the gateway percent and any flat fee with your contract.

Should the monthly plan be inside one order’s profit?

Only if you want a per-order view of it. Leave “orders sharing this month’s plan” blank and the profit is the order alone. Type 40 and the plan is split 40 ways. A quiet month makes the plan a much larger slice.

Which plan is the default?

Basic, billed yearly, because that is the solo-store price on the pricing page. The third-party fee on that plan is 2%. Change the plan and both the monthly price and the percent move together.
