One Gumroad sale. A direct sale is 10% + US$0.50, and card processing is a further 2.9% + US$0.30. A Discover marketplace sale is a flat 30%, and that 30% already includes processing. What does the Gumroad fee calculator charge on a direct sale?

Gumroad’s fees article says a sale on Gumroad’s website is 10% + US$0.50. That does not include credit-card processing of 2.9% + US$0.30. Both are on by default. There is no monthly fee.

What is the Gumroad Discover fee?

Sales through Gumroad’s marketplace are a flat 30%, and that 30% includes processing. This calculator does not add the card fee on a Discover sale. The high-volume 5% rate does not apply to Discover either.

When does the 5% Gumroad rate start?

Once paid sales in a calendar month reach US$20,000, new direct sales that month are 5% + US$0.50 instead of 10% + US$0.50. It resets on the 1st. The US$0.50 stays. A refund can put the month back under US$20,000. Pick the high-volume row only when this sale is one of those later direct sales.

Does this include PayPal?

No. Gumroad says PayPal fees are separate and does not publish a single PayPal rate on the fees page. Leave card processing off and type the PayPal fee under Any other fee, or keep the card rate if the buyer paid by card.
